Craggan is a very well maintained 9-hole par 3 course in a beautiful setting beside the River Spey, & with views to the Cromdale Hills & Cairngorms. It is designed to suit all standards of golfer, from the complete beginner, to the seasoned low handicapper, being short enough to encourage those starting in the game, not wanting the challenge of a longer course, or just wanting a bit of fun, but still offering a challenging test of accuracy & length for the more accomplished player.

Holes vary from a shortest of 111 yards, to the 209 yard 5th which rises away from the river to an elevated green. Our signature hole is the 6th, which is 162 yards downhill with water in front & a bunker behind the green. And the final hole, the 9th, is 132 yards, with water down the left side, & bunkers front left & right defending the green. Total course length for the 9 holes is 1,269 yards.

The greens are all of excellent quality, being cut daily during the season, and we take great pride in producing the best possible putting surfaces. There are a few ‘inviting’ water hazards on the course, which surrounds a trout fishery, where osprey can often be seen looking for a meal. You may also see roe deer and hares on the course, & up to six different species of wild duck have been spotted, aswell as many other birds.

Our green fees for 2018 are excellent value at £15 for adults for 9 holes & £10 for under-16s; £18 & £12 respectively for 18 holes, & £21 & £14 for a day ticket. Half-sets of clubs are available for hire at £10 each, & £6.50 for junior set. We also have a small selection of tees, balls, markers, divot repairers, & club covers for sale in the Clubhouse.

Golf is a ‘pay & play’ activity, so no bookings required / taken – except for groups which are advised to ring ahead / pre-book – just come along, pay your money (cash only), & off you go.

Season tickets for the course are also excellent value at £60 for adults & £30 for under-16s. Please email ferguslaing60@gmail.com for further information.

We welcome all visitors, particularly children and families. Nine holes can take as little as an hour, and even with young children it won’t take more than a pleasant morning or afternoon. We operate a ‘pay and play’ system which means that it is not necessary to book a tee time, but there are occasional competitions through the summer, usually in the evening, so it can be worth checking ahead to ensure that your intended visit doesn’t correspond with the course being used / closed for a competition.

We also offer an excellent 9 hole putting green. This is particularly popular with families, and even very young children can be part of the fun. Rates are great value at £5 for adults and £2 for under-16’s. This for up to an hour on the green, & includes a ball & putter.

During the winter period of November to March, the course remains open weather permitting ie. subject to no frost / snow on the greens, with green fees reduced to £10 for adults & £5 for under 16s for 9 holes. Please note that payments for golf are cash only, & there is an honesty box for payments when the Clubhouse isn’t open.

Expect a warm welcome in our licensed Clubhouse Cafe, which is generally open daily, 10am to 6pm, from April to the end of October. Choose from a range of freshly prepared food, or just relax with a freshly brewed pot of tea or mug of Douwe Egberts coffee, or of course something stronger. The Clubhouse Cafe is also available for hire for functions and events, with further details being available on that page of this website. We also welcome group bookings for golf and/or catering, with discounted group rates being available if paid in advance. The course is also ideal for corporate and charity days.
