For those that are seeking the thrills of rafting a series of grade 3 to 4, sometimes 5, rapids, then our day trips on the River Findhorn – the UK’s best white water rafting river – are the thing for you! The Findhorn is one of Scotland’s last wild rivers, meaning that it has an entirely natural water flow – as opposed to dam releases on a number of other rivers used for rafting – and as such offers an entirely natural, authentic, dramatic and exciting experience from a raft, particularly after heavy rain or snow-melt. The choice of three different sections to raft means that a good experience, or in the very best conditions an exceptional and world-class experience, can be had at most times of the year.
The Findhorn trips are suited to anybody over the age of 13 with a reasonable degree of fitness. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets are provided, along of course with rafts, paddles and all instruction. Pricing is from £85 per person upwards depending upon the number of participants, with minimum group size being eight, and a maximum of 32 participants. Please note that your own transport will be required for this activity which begins and ends at a site 25-30 minutes drive from Craggan Outdoors main location.
Please note that if water levels are in our experience & judgement deemed to be too low for a good experience, which can occasionally happen during mid summer &/or after prolonged dry periods, or if the river is heavily frozen during winter, then your group will be advised accordingly in advance of the day, & offered the choice to either progress with the trip, or a credit to return at a later date when conditions are better. It should be noted that any booking made for white water rafting is on this basis, & in booking you are accepting this condition. Always book ahead to avoid disappointment.
Please also check out how your participation in this activity contributes to Craggan Outdoors’ support of our chosen charity, Water for Kids.
