We are lucky at Craggan Outdoors to have the beautiful Glenbeg Estate as our base and backdrop, along with having the majestic pine woodlands of Anagach close to hand. Glenbeg is a small Highland estate that offers great mountain biking terrain, either using the estate tracks for a scenically focused trip, with views across to the Cairngorms and Cromdale Hills as a highlight, or our custom-designed skills area and / or single-track woodland for a more concentrated technical session. Anagach Woods has miles of excellent mountain bike trails that offer the opportunity for great riding flow through undulating terrain, but with nothing too severe hills-wise, as well as having an excellent purpose-built skills circuit. The June 2011 issue of Mountain Biking UK featured some of the trails that we use in a piece about mountain biking in this area being one of the UK’s best kept secrets.
Whatever the group type and capabilities, your session begins with your experienced and knowledgeable instructor getting the group kitted out with appropriately sized bikes from our range of well-maintained mid-range hard-tail bikes, along with helmet, gloves and eye protection to help ensure that personal safety is paramount. The instructor will then lead the group through a series of exercises & games on flat ground to familiarise everybody with handling their bikes, including various top tips & handy hints to help all riders get the best out of their personal riding. The group then heads out on the trails for your 90 minute to 2 hour session, with the expert local knowledge of the instructor enabling the right / best route to be chosen to suit the abilities & fitness of the group. We guarantee that whatever your prior experience & standard of riding, we’ll deliver exactly the session to suit your group’s participants…..& that you’ll love it!
If you’re fancying a longer session, then we also offer tailor-made guided trips on local trails, such as to the nearby Bike Glenlivet, or if you fancy doing your own thing, bike hire is also available by the half-day or day. Price per person for guided sessions is from £29 upwards, or £58 upwards for a full day session, depending upon participant numbers. Bike hire is £19 for a half day and £29 for a full day. Local trail maps are available to purchase from our Clubhouse Cafe, as are all the refreshments that you’ll require for before, during and after your pedalling. Why not come along and see for yourself what MBUK where talking about! Always book ahead to avoid disappointment.
