An activity new to Craggan Outdoors in 2015 was the ever growing sport of disc golf. Disc golf is played like traditional golf, but instead of a ball & clubs, using a disc (frisbee). The disc is thrown from a tee to the ‘hole’, a specially designed basket that catches the disc. Our disc golf course is set alongside the main golf course, & comprises nine holes played twice to give a full round of 18 holes.
As with standard golf, we welcome all ages, all types of groups & all abilities, so if you fancy something a little different in the way of a couple of hours of easy access outdoor fun, then why not come & give it a try. It’s great value at £7.50 per round for adults, & £5 for under 16s for a round, with this including one disc to get you started. Or get a day ticket for £10 (£7 under 16s) & play as much as you like. Hire of additional discs is £2 each. Please note that payments for disc golf are cash only, & that a £5 deposit per disc is required. Disc golf is a ‘pay & play’ activity, so no bookings required / taken – except for groups who are advised to pre-book, particularly if wanting disc hire – just come along, pay your money (cash only), & off you go.
Added to our disc golf offering in the 2016 season was a ‘mini’ disc golf course. Designed with nine shorter holes, all set within a smaller self-contained area, this shorter course is specifically with younger children in mind. Price is £5 per adult & £3 for under 16s for a round, with the same details as the main course for discs.
And if you find that you like it, then there’s another course to play not too far away at our friends Ace Adventure up near Forres. Check it out. The two courses successfully hosted the inaugural Moray Disc Golf Open in May 2015 as part of the annual Quaich Tour, & it returned in 2016, and will again be back in 2017. Interested, then check out the Quaich Tour.
