Additional & Special Needs

Whilst not being a specialist centre for those with special or additional needs, over the years an increasing number of groups with participants that fall into this category have found their way to Craggan Outdoors. Accordingly we have developed a good level of expertise in working with children, young people and adults with a wide range of physical, emotional and behavioural issues. We appreciate the valuable experience that exposure to an outdoor activities environment can deliver, particularly to those to whom such an opportunity may be rare. Past and current clients have included Kibble Education & Care Centre, FACES, Key Community Support, Moray Youth Action, Venture Trust, Family Learning, Carr-Gomm Scotland, WEA, Highland Children's Forum and many more!

As with all groups, our approach is to liaise with the group organiser to ensure that we understand as much as possible about each group and their capabilities, along with what they wish to achieve from their time with us. By working in this way we can propose activities that will best fit with both capabilities and objectives, and ensure a schedule that is just right for the group, and importantly the available budget. Once you're with us, you'll find that our staff, chosen as much for their people skills as their technical capabilities, are comfortable working with a wide range of people, and will put all at ease and giver support, guidance, encouragement and confidence as required.

So whether you're looking for a morning or afternoon of activities, an overnight or weekend residential, or longer, then get in touch to let us know what you have in mind and we guarantee that we'll put together an experience for your group that will live long in their memories.

"It is good for the young people and staff to get away from the residential unit and spend quality time in a relaxed therapeutic environment. It is important for our young people to experience the great outdoors and get opportunities to enhance their self esteem and confidence by undertaking new challenges. Everything about the activities and accommodation was great, and this is the reason why we keep coming back!"
Sinclair Soutar, Kibble Education & Care Centre, July 2011

"The professionalism and friendliness of the staff was second to none in my experience. All activities went extremely smoothly, and the staff dealt with all the varying personalities within our party with ease."
Gail Clark, Key Community Support (Thurso), August 2010
